Vessel Contents

The Vessel Contents Report gives a simple listing of the wine batches (and the associated wine and designation codes) contained in each tank.  The contrasts with the Vessel Composition Report which goes into detail about the blend, additives and other components of each batch in tank.

Vessel Composition

The Vessel Composition Report allows you to view the composition of a particular vessel.   The report generated by this page is used to verify the composition of any wine you have on site.

You can view such details interactively by going to the Vessels list and using the advanced search feature.

Dashboard

The Operations Dashboard is used as a general overview of what’s going on in your winery. It shows a list of the most recent winery operations, as well as a couple of graphs detailing the year to year progress of your harvests and bulk receivals.

 Operation History

Select the desired criteria from the drop-down menus listed to create a Winery Operation Report.  To view such details interactively go to the Winery Operations list and use the advanced search feature.

Bulk Despatch Composition

The Bulk Despatch Composition Report is used to verify the composition of any bulk wine or juice you are sending to another party.  The only parameter you need for this report is the id number of the bulk despatch.  If you start to type a number in, you will be provided with a list of possible options.

Settings

Vessel Groups

Vessel Groups is the broadest and most simple differentiation of vessels.

Vessel Types

Vessel Types is a way to group vessels that are of a specific type and share the same characteristics, normally by capacity and manufacturing specs eg stainless size and type, or cooper/forest/toast for barrels.

Wines

Wines is where you list your wines and designate the code by which you will refer to them in Vinsight.  For example, you may wish to use the code ‘CH’ to refer to “Chardonnay or predominant blends.”

Designations

Designations are a way to group batches for ease of searching and reporting. The designation code is best used for a combination of 2 things: who owns the batch and what quality tier it is. eg TJRS (Tom Jones’ Reserve),  OWSV (own wine / single vineyard range).

Batch Statuses

Batch Statuses can be used to denote what stage or state the wine is currently in.   Simply designate colours to represent the status of the wine.  For example, you may use green to indicate the wine is fermenting.  This enables you to get a quick visual of the status of the wine in particular vessels, when looking at the vessels area.    There is a handful of preloaded examples to help you get started, e.g. juice, ferm, wine. . .

Operation Types

Operation Types  is where the various operation types, such as ‘addition’, ‘crush’ and ‘despatch’ are listed and described.  You can edit this section to add or modify codes or descriptions.  You can also add information or warnings that you wish to show up when these operations are used in the system.  For example, if you edit the ‘Operation Standard Text’  for ‘inoculate’ to read “Water @38 C and stand for 15 mins” this message will show up in this comments section everytime you select ‘inoculate’  when doing a Winery Operation.  Mostly operation types are fairly flexible with the exception that any operation that brings fruit into the winery needs to use the ‘crush’ type, so you could have ‘press chardonnay’ as an operation code as long as the type is ‘crush’.  This is the same for the type ‘receival’ which brings external wine or juice into the winery and ‘despatch’, that sends wine or juice out of the winery.
